Educational Web Design: Not Just For The Kids

Educational Web Design is a term that can relate to many things. If you think about it, educational web design could mean any website on the internet because you’re usually looking to learn some information about something. So really, educational web design is a very broad term. When I talk about educational web design I’m referring to something more like a school’s website. This means any type of school going from preschool to college and beyond. Each school should have its own educational website built so that people can look and find all the information they need about the school and what it offers.

There are a lot of different people that use educational websites. Parents wanting to look up information on the teachers or on school fees will definitely find the information they are looking for. These are parents who possible just moved to the area or have a child who is now ready to go to school. It can also be for students wanting to find information. This would more likely be in the case of a college then anything else because they website hold more information geared towards helping the student than informing the parent. There are a lot of different schools across the nation and most of them have websites. How well these website look is another story. At the websites I’ve looked at for most high schools there are a lot of features that are annoying or amateur looking. I personally feel that these websites could be designed better but at least these schools have a website. If your school doesn’t have a website, I would be weary to let my children go there. If they don’t even have a website it would be a red flag that a good education may not be present there.
