There are so many things that you can do with music web design. Most websites won’t have audio incorporated into them because it is not necessary and doesn’t have much to do with anything that they are doing. Your website (as a music website) should have a lot of audio in it. Whether it be playing once a visitor comes on the page or if you have somewhere that they can go to sample your music or hear whole songs. That is going to be the main reason that someone, who doesn’t know who you are, comes to the site. They are going to want to check out what you sound like and make judgment on whether or not they will enjoy listening to more. Think about how MySpace Music works; bands create their
own profile and can show their music on the music player provided.
This should be the same concept with your website only on a bigger scale. There should be more information about you everywhere and anything that you can imagine people/fans wanting to know. Not only does the website contain music from you it should also show fans when and where you will be playing shows. The website is mostly geared towards those who already have heard about you but when doing the content you should also think about those who have no idea who you are. This is why the music samples are important; these new visitors are going to go straight to this area so that they can get to know your music right away.
Having the audio feature on your website is going to be the biggest piece that you are going to want on there. Make sure that you are putting up your best work and that the audio is recorded professionally and doesn’t sound distorted or choppy.
