Pet Services Web Design: Information Included

Standard

As far as pet services web design goes the more information the better. As a pet owner, I want to know everything there is to know about a vet, groomer, etc. before I go and let a stranger be responsible for my miniature best friend. This information differs depending on which pet service I am looking at. Since it’s first on the list I’ll go over what information should be included in your veterinary practice’s website for customers.

On the home page there should be a statement welcoming visitors to the site. Also your home page should have where you are located, hours of operation, and contact information right there for everyone. On most other websites this information would be in a contact us section or something similar, but for pet services websites this is what most people are looking for. You could also choose to have some information about the practice, kind of like an about us page would. Most veterinary websites just put their about us information on the first page for customers to review over right away.

There should be a page dedicated to the services you provide. In general you should put down what species you service; dog, cat, birds, etc. You should also what medical services you offer. This doesn’t have to go into complete detail, just a short overview of everything, or a brief description. You should also mention if you do other extra services, such as; grooming, or boarding, anything of that nature. Lastly a brief section, just like before, only this time about specialty services. This would be where you should mention what kind of surgeries you undertake at your office. Most veterinarians do some surgeries at their office and visitors/customers want to know if they can come to you for it. Lastly be sure to mention if you do house calls, and where your closest animal hospital is for emergencies.

There should always, always, always be a section to introduce the staff. This section should include pictures and bios. As much information as possible about who is going to be taking care of my pet. I would suggest getting more professional looking pictures. This in turn makes you look more professional. Be sure to be personable in your pictures. A good idea would be to take a professional picture with your pet and use that for the website. I would be super comfortable with a vet who had a picture with his/her pet.

A small page for pricing is also necessary, but only for the extra services such as grooming, boarding and things like that. Most customers will want to compare you with others prices for boarding so make sure they don’t have to go through a lot to get that price.

This is all that is really necessary on a veterinary website, but I highly suggest adding some more pages. This extra content can only be beneficial to you. It will help you get found on the search engines and it will make your customers even more satisfied. They can look to your website for all the information they need. I would recommend adding a section possibly for a newsletter to your regular customers, or an index about the animals you serve. It could show all the information an owner needs to know. For example, health issues with dogs, behavioral issues in cats, feeding tips for birds, or whatever you can think of. You can also think about having a links page with websites about animal behavior, or a dog breed directory. Anything like that you can think of.

Follow these tips and you’ll have a complete veterinary website that caters to every visitor’s needs. In return your business will flourish and it will have been worth the investment. Want to learn about other types of web design? Visit us at DreamCo Design – Web Design.
